Rare Factory Six Cylinder - True F2!

Be sure to check out the current pictures of the engine!

Every once in a while in the world of car collecting the rarest of opportunities comes along for an unusual car. When collectors think of MG's they more than often think of the four-cylinder TC’s, TD’s and TF’s followed with four cylinder MGAs. Before all of these cars came along in the MG evolution in the early 1930s MG made one of the most wonderful classic style English roadster with a six cylinder engine called the 1932 MG F2 Magna Open Sports 2-seater.
What really separates the F2 from the later four-cylinder MGs is the big six-cylinder engine and the mile long hood of the car. Another fascinating part of these MG six cylinders is the fantastic authoritative exhaust note that is music to the ears. Another thing that has been noted in the road tests on the six cylinder F2s is the high degree of torque and smooth and almost vibration-free six-cylinder engine. The stopping power on a F2 Magna means business when you realize that the brakes are twelves inches in diameter.
It is believed that only forty of these cars were made and that only a few exist worldwide.
As for how many of the forty survive, that is unclear. There are a number of F2s on the market that were originally F3s and underwent a conversion given the greater desirability and rarity of the F2 model. So the buyer should be aware that this car is an original F2 …yes this F2 is the real deal.
The other good news about this car is that it has had the same owner for 60 years and is sold on a bill of sale.
The car has not been running since it was purchased about 60 years ago but the car has been kept in protective storage the entire time.
The car comes with the original fold down windshield along with the protective headlight screens from its racing days.
The wood in the body appears to be solid and the panels appear to be straight. The doors do not sag in the slightest. There is some minor surface rust in places.
Yes! This car was born an F2 and it is the Real Deal!
4 Speed Manual transmission
Rear mounted spare
Original Tonneau cover
Leather hood strap
Again, these 1,271 cc. six-cylinder engine are known for their torque and the melodic, authoritative roar of the exhaust. Note the engine is free and turns over when a rear wheel is turned.
The car was purchased in England in 1967 and has not changed ownership since then! This may be considered one of the great garage finds of the year. Notice how well this car has been preserved over the years.
This F2 like all the other F2s that were road tested in various publications are known to be highly reliable and very quick for the engine displacement and do stop with authority because of the twelve-inch brakes. These cars are well known to be able to hit 70 mph and then some.
This car will need a restoration but considering its current condition it should be a lot more fun than most! This is a car for the most discriminating collector. We request that all inquiries are from only those that real and friendly buyers and who will give this car a good home.
