Here is a very nice 39 Plymouth Roadking P7 Business Coupe. I've owned it since 2015. When I bought it, the paint needed to be finished and the interior installed. I completed the paint but the interior kit(included) still needs to be installed. An upholstery shop quoted me around $1200 to install the interior kit I have. I also installed all new glass and rubber seals for the glass. Seals for the trunk and doors is included. The previous owner did the bulk of the work on the car. When I bought it, below was his description of all the work done on the car:
This all steel business coupe is in final stages of body off restoration. Hundreds of man-hours have been spent on the body work, and over $15,000 on parts and services. Every part has been rebuilt or is NOS. Car drives like it came off of the Plymouth showroom in 1939. There are working keys for all 5 locks on the car.
Body work- Painted bodywork is a DuPont single stage urethane. Main body section rust free, with all repairs using metal with minimal filler.
Chrome-Triple plated show quality chrome on all exterior parts. Nickel plated interior parts, as original
Running boards- Hunley Acuff running boards, one of the best in the business
Dash- Beautiful dash completely refurbished. Rebuilt speedometer and NOS gauges, deluxe heater with defrosters. Everything works! All wood grained window trim pieces done. Radio was rebuilt, but no antenna installed.
Interior- New Hampton Coach upholstery kit in original boxes included (original cost $2300) but not installed. Includes Tan Bedford cord seats and panels, beige headliner, brown carpet, and visors.
Electrical system- 6 volt, new period correct YnZ's wiring harness with built in turn signal wiring. Every light on the car works. Door window regulators and sliding arm support channels are NOS.
Engine- 1939 201 cu in professionally rebuilt flat head 6. All casting numbers correct for the year.
Drive train- 3 speed transmission with floor shift. Transmission, rear differential, and drive line rebuilt. New clutch pressure plate, disc, and throw out bearing.
Suspension- New kingpins, control arm bushings, bearings, tie rod ends.
Fuel system- Tank professionally cleaned, all new lines, fuel pump, and professionally rebuilt carburetor
Brakes- Hydraulic and emergency brakes rebuilt.
Tires/Wheels- New 600 x 16 Goodyear bias ply tires with new hubcaps on original steel wheels.
original shop manual and owners manual.
I also have a nice set of Coker 600 x 16 wide white wall tires that I can install if anyone prefers the whitewalls over the blackwalls (last photo shows the car with the whitewalls) Clean title in my name, current registration through July 2019.
Feel free to email or call for more information. Also, I have many more photos of the underside that I can send if requested. It is very clean underneath with only some dust left over from the paint job. Nick 415 652-3926
I have the car listed locally for sale and reserve the right to end the auction early if need be.
