This is a very nice older restoration BJ8 which I have had since 2012. Restoration was done approximately 2004 and the car has only logged 5,000 miles since. Originally this car came into restoration as a well cared for, accident and rust free southern car. Mirror like BRG paint which has proven itself over time with some expected wear from time and use. The interior of this car is better than when was new and still smells new! Perfectly fitted leather seating and trim, exceptional top, boot and tonneau with support bars as pictured in trunk. Moving on to the dash and driver control area, you will just smile looking at the perfection and shine of the bural wood dash and watch quality gauges looking back at you. Not only does the dash, gauges and switch gear look the part of perfection, it works just as well. Every switch, system and functionality work as designed from new with reliability too. Along with the restoration, new wiring harness front to rear was installed as you can see. The gauges work, lights, horn, overdrive, wipers, turn signals, signal indicators, etc. Under the hood speaks for itself, everything has been restored or replaced with authentic new components. Systems rebuilt and the engine runs as good as new making only the right noises. Brakes are super solid and will easily bring this car down from interstate speeds immediately and with straight line predictability.
The only area of less-than-perfection is that there are a few areas of paint blemish/chips noted in the pictures and one very small parking lot ding on the driver side rear fender arch which happened when I let my wife drive it to her hair appt to show the ladies. This area is accessible from the inside of the wheel well and could be easily repaired by Dent Wizard or the like. You will also see the largest blemish is on the driver side of the front cowl at the hood line. I has been that way for quite a while and I am unsure what caused the paint irregularity. A couple other minor spots pointed out in the pictures and one chip behind the top, forward of the trunk. The paint blemishes are not visible from beyond 6 feet away. So, I call this a 6-foot perfect driver. The underside is clean but reflective of a driver. Some dirt and road grime but not a mess and not at all a grease ball. Frame is solid with no damage whatsoever. I had it inspected professionally when I purchased it and received a clean bill of health. You will see some chassis and frame pictures which are representative of the overall condition. I do not have access to a lift so did the best I could there.
To conclude, this Healey is about as perfect as one can find for a super solid driver wearing a 15-year-old restoration. Any nicer and it would have had to be a trailer queen. I have driven this car in traffic on the warmest of days in SC, on the highway, country roads, up hills and down, she's happy as can be with any driving conditions. Feel free to call me if there is anything you would like to have a conversation about. I also have the car for sale locally so the auction is subject to end if a sale develops prior to auction end.
