Car Description:
1969 MGB GT coupe, 1.8 motor, motor tag in pictures, manual Laycock overdrive transmission, 44,440 miles, Title does read actual miles. Title is clean clear and free. This car is a project I was told it was a very good running car before brought into storage to have the start of a restoration to be done, but obviously never got it finished.
Car mechanical description:
This car has had the wiring started to be disconnected at the dash instrument panel, most all wires are disconnected at connectors and most appear to be marked with tape where they belong. So for trying to start it I could not, Motor turns over freely seems very strong and compression seems to be good. I am sure it will run with all wires in there proper places. This car has a very good looking motor and it appears maybe to be rebuilt, The oil and antifreeze look super clean and inside engine valve cover looking in from oil fill cap, parts look almost new. Also has the overdrive Laycock transmission. Tag in pictures. Car has real good brakes. Looks like it has after market carburetor, intake and header ?. Really looks like an easy job to get car back on the road. This is a great car for the amateur, and father son or father daughter project great way to spend time together.
Car exterior:
Car appears to be pretty rust free and straight with the exception of the hood it is aluminum and dented and has been cut for the large after market intake and carb hood scoop combination. The chrome bumpers and wire wheels have been painted black and are peeling. Also appearance items trim and weather seals are in need of replacement or restoration. The unibody - frame is in great shape has some floor pan rust but nothing major very easy repair to fix. There is some minor blistering on rockers and lower body at a few spots again nothing real bad. Doors are rust free. Paint is poor and faded. Windshield is cracked, other glass appears ok. Tires look very good. Also chrome trim has been taken of car and placed in hatch area. Folks If you just want to make this a daily driver I think it will be an easy project.
Car Interior:
Dash gauges and dash pad will need work looks a little rough and wires need hooked up, there are extra parts in the hatch area not sure what all is there. You may be missing something ?. There is no carpet with the car and seats are complete but will need gone over. wood is solid. Spare tire, jack and wrench complete and very solid floor. Door locks are disconnected.
