CC 31003 - Frame off restoration. Most of the work was done by me over a couple years time with the exception of the body work, paint, new top and windscreen replacement. The rear valance is new – any remaining body rust was cut out and replaced with new metal by the body shop. Differential mounts were rebuilt by the welding shop and the frame was sandblasted and painted. Anything else needing attention has been renewed or replaced. New interior panels and carpet, dash, crash pads, seat diaphragms. Bottom end overhaul – bearings, seals, gaskets, oil pump. New water pump, brake lines, hoses, weather stripping, and exhaust.
Everything I know of is stock except the vintage Revolution wheels, rocker shaft auxiliary oil feed, and spin on oil filter. The odometer shows 04690 which cannot be actual. The trip odometer shows 757 which are the actual miles since restoration. The guy I bought it from told me it had been an Alabama car. It had been over sprayed baby blue when I got it. The original color was Damson. I had it painted Sapphire Blue, like my first TR6 that I bought new in 1974. I sold it in 1978 because after marriage and kids, we needed something more practical.
The ’69 has been sort of a nostalgia project for me. We cruise around in it a bit every summer, maybe go to a car show, but now we’re retiring and moving and it’s time to pass it on to someone else who can appreciate and enjoy it. Please contact me with any questions or if you’d like to arrange for a test drive.
