1970 Lotus EUROPA S2
Up for sale is a 1970 Lotus Europa S2. Only 1560 were made in 1970 and no telling how few remain especially in this condition with extremely low miles. Odometer is registering only 15,277 miles. Due to the age of the car, the title states miles are exempt but looking at the overall condition of the car, wear patterns looks like original miles.
Mechanical
This car is in great mechanical shape and runs, drives and stops great. Car has new tires and new battery and some other work including brake, clutch and accelerator pedals etc. Car has a header and sounds very raspy, i.e. like a great European 4 cylinder engine should sound. The engine was supplied by Renault in 1970 for the Europa, a 1.5L I4 engine with approximately 90 horsepower. Considering the car only weighs in at 1600 pounds, that’s enough to get you down the road. Steering is very responsive. Short throw shifter. Car sounds great running through the gears. Drives straight and stops straight.
Exterior
The exterior is in great shape. Car has two trunks, one in the rear behind the engine (mid engine design) and one up front. See pics. Paint is very presentable with some minor scratches and flows. The chrome is nice and shiny, all glass is nice. This car has not been a garage queen all of its life so if you're looking for a concourse condition vehicle, this is not for your.
Interior
The interior looks just beautiful. Car has power windows, all the gauges seem to work with no issues.
