This 1970 Volvo 1800E was reportedly acquired by the seller’s uncle in the 1980s, underwent cosmetic and mechanical refreshment while with her father in the 1990s, and has been with the seller for the past 10 years. Power is from a fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline-four backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Work under current ownership included replacement of the door and window seals, interior door panels, and suspension bushings as well as a radiator overhaul and more. This 1800 is offered with a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
This 1800E coupe left Gothenburg finished in Cherry Red (46) according to the chassis data plate. The seller’s father had the body repainted and the bumpers re-chromed following his acquisition in the 1990s. Body repairs were reportedly conducted on the front left due to an accident after the paintwork, and the seller notes corrosion on the rear bumper.
Optional 15″ wheels feature alloy centers and steel barrels, with each retaining a beauty ring and Volvo center cap. Firestone 195-width tires are fitted all around, and a matching spare wheel is shown in the trunk.
The cockpit is trimmed in black, with sheepskin covers over the cracked leather front seats. The trunk and door seals have been replaced under current ownership along with the door panels. The seller notes splits in the dash, which features late-model woodgrain panels and a 1980s cassette radio. The six-place odometer shows 140k miles, approximately 15k of which were added by the seller over the past 10 years. The fuel gauge and speedometer do not register reliably.
The 2.0-liter B20 inline-four is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and a working overdrive unit. The engine features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and is said to run rich. A new battery, distributor cap, spark plugs, and air filter were installed and the radiator was rebuilt in 2016 according to the seller.
Suspension bushings and the steering idler arm were replaced in 2017.
