I am currently selling my 2007 Acura TL Type S. I hate to see it go but I am not in need of a second car.
Currently I am in College, so a few extra dollars wouldn’t hurt. I am the second owner, I believe. The first owner primarily used the car on the highway as he commuted from Virginia to Florida and back. I can provide the car facts report I have. In terms of maintenance I have tried to do my best to stay on top of what it requires as it does have some mileage. I will include the work that has been performed on the car. This car is the definition of a well balanced vehicle. Arguably this model and design will compete with anything being released today despite the age difference. It is luxurious, sporty and reliable. It is a Honda after all. Funny I should mention Honda because we all know Hondas leak oil and what do you know this one is too. This car is currently bone stock. Besides a couple cosmetic modifications. This car has a higher value because of the manual transmission and the black interior. They are hard to come by in this combination. The car has its issues yes but all sellers should know that I take in consideration all the work/maintenance already performed and perks to balance out SOME of the issues. With that being said the price is negotiable but I am NOT in a hurry to sell so you won’t be wasting my time but yours.
The work done mechanically is as follows
OEM Honda Water Pump
OEM Serpentine Belt
OEM Tensioner Pulleys
OEM Timing Belt
Advanced Auto Power Steering Pump
Power Steering Flush was performed
All three Valve Covers gaskets were replaced.
OEM Spark Plugs
Alternator was recently replaced from Advanced
Starter from PepBoys
Battery is a couple years old but it is Platinum
OEM MAF Sensor
EGR Valve -Advanced
OEM Intake Boot
Air Filter
Cabin Air FIlter
4 OEM O2/ Oxygen/Air fuel ratio Sensors 2 in back and 2 front
OEM Motor Mounts Front Side and Rear
Throttle Body Was Cleaned
Transmission Fluid was replaced using AC Delco/GM Synchro Mesh Anti- Friction Trans Fluid
Throttle Body Cable was adjusted/tightened
Right Front Wheel Bearing replaced
Honda Bond was scraped and replaced on the oil pan
Rear Calipers replaced
Breaks and Rotors were replaced not too long ago but have good life
Unfortunately both front calipers were replaced so they are not the black Acura calipers
The car currently has a Pikachu, Heisenberg and Kid Buu stickers adding 5HP each
I want to explain the transmission fluid a bit better. So basically if you ask around on forums about these cars and specifically about the manuals you will hear a lot about the third gear popping out. When I purchased the car I didn’t feel it immediately but when I did I quickly did some research and saw that it is actually common, unfortunately. Luckily though it does have a solution hence the GM Synchro Mesh Fluid. From what I read the Acura Trans Fluid is a little too thick and it doesn’t have the viscosity that this transmission really requires. When I replaced the fluid it was night and day, it has not done it since. I am mentioning this because I would strongly recommend the future buyer to use the same fluid.
Issues Currently having-
I ran through some messed up train tracks with low tire pressure and I believe that was what knocked the alignment. Car currently pulls too right. I am told I need to replace the control arms
And a camber rod in the back I have a report from a certified alignments shop
Oil Leakage: I took it to Good Year for them to perform a dye test to pin point exactly where the leak was coming from
And they determined its the oil filter gasket which I bought but haven’t replaced. I will provide the part to buyer. They also mentioned a bolt was pretty wet not the drain plug. I would highly recommend for the buyer to also replace the oil filter mount/ vtec solenoid gasket because they will be working there anyway.
Check Engine Light P0171 Initially I got it diagnosed and replaced the corresponding 02 sensor in that same moment I decided to replace all four. Once the light remained on, I was told it could be from an injector to a catalytic converter or a intake leak. SeaFoam was brought up but I have my doubts. I decided not to fix it because I rather not put any more money into the car
Interior Seats on the front are cracked/ripped (inevitable on the TL) the passenger side is bad but the front driver is only cracked but completely intact
Dashboard is cracked but again inevitable on the TL
I have never had any issues with this car beyond standard mileage. Engine and Transmission on these cars are solid in my opinion.
Cosmetic Modifications Include
Hood wrapped in black 3M Vinyl. This makes the car more aerodynamic and thus making it faster. The hood itself is not damaged it does have a couple rock dings but I am not hiding the hood I simply wrapped the hood in black to make it look better.
Yellow Tint on Fog lights It looks great
Headlights were recently restored
Interior light bulbs were replaced with LED light bulbs I will provide replacements
Reverse Light Bulbs were replaced for much brighter lighting LED
Window Tint is completely removed
Interior strips on the console have been wrapped in a carbon fiber look
Shark tooth front hood grille for aggressiveness
I have the bumper plugs that go under the license plate but only one is currently on
The skirts are wrapped in a clear 3m vinyl to protect against build up dirt
